Let's start with tops. Ella Moss's Agatha Turtle Neck is a great example - a relaxed, feminine turtleneck is updated to high-class with a tux style ruffled bib. Adding a vest like Free People's Nomad Vest to a button down or bibbed shirt gives it a nice masculine feel, and the nomad vest has a knit hood and lapels for a funky twist.
To solidify the look, tailored bottoms work best. A pencil skirt like Velvet's is flattering and sexy but still formal.
